THE last thing we’d think about doing when washing our hair is stepping out of the shower.

But, according to one hair expert, that’s exactly what we should be doing in between applying shampoo and conditioner. 

Freelance hairdresser Rachel Valentine, who can be found on TikTok at @rachelvalentinehair, shared the “genius” tip with her 12,000 followers – and said they’d notice the difference immediately. 

Rachel explained: “This is why you should towel dry your hair before you apply your conditioner.”

The hair stylist then pointed to two glasses in front of her, as she demonstrated her theory more clearly. 

She went on to say: “So a bit like when you make a glass of juice, the more water you add, the better that juice is going to be.

“The less water you add, the stronger that juice is going to be.

“The more water you have on your hair, the more diluted your conditioner is going to be.

“You’re going to need way more for it to do its job, and you’re going to essentially waste lots of product.

“So try towel drying it before you apply your conditioner – you will notice a huge difference.”
