I’m a money-saving guru & these are the three Christmas bits you should buy now… and they're all from The Range | The Sun

CHRISTMAS is only three months away and with the cost-of-living crisis affecting many households up and down the country, chances are you haven't got much spare cash floating around to splurge on Christmas bits.

Although Christmas is a very expensive time of year, this doesn’t mean that your decor needs to suffer.

We spoke to Gemma Bird, also known as the Money Saving Mum, on the three bargain Christmas items that you can pick up from The Range, to glam up your home ready for the festive season.

The 40-year-old mum-of-two, who lives in Billericay, Essex, lives mortgage-free in a four-bedroom detached house, drives a Range Rover and jets off on multiple holidays a year to plush resorts in Mexico, Lapland and Dubai.

But Gemma isn’t an heiress or a lottery winner – no, she’s achieved this comfortable life despite never earning more than £25k a year.

The money-saver previously told Fabulous: “I’ve never earned more than £25,000 a year. I live and breathe deals. I don’t care how much money you have, people always love a bargain.

“The Range is a great store – they have a lot of unusual and also useful things”.

So if you want to save money on your Christmas decorations this year, you’ll want to head down to The Range and quick.

Christmas tree

The first item that Gemma recommends is a 6ft Norway Spruce Christmas tree from The Range.

This £29.99 tree is sure to spruce up any room during the festive period and is extremely realistic in style.

Gemma said: “This Christmas tree is 6ft – it’s a good size and it’s £30.

“This is a really reasonable price.

“It’s reusable, so you’ve only got to spend the money once and then every year, you can put it in the loft and get it down again at Christmas, whereas if you buy a real tree, you’re throwing it away every year”.

Pack of 16 Majestic Metallic Baubles

Once you’ve got your tree, you’ll need some baubles, right?

Gemma recommends the £4.99 16 pack of metallic baubles from The Range.

Gemma explained: “Buying larger packs of baubles works out a lot cheaper.

“If you buy a good few packs of staple baubles, you can put them all over your tree.

“As the years go on you can add to your bauble collection”.

These baubles are a perfect way to achieve a coordinated tree and the glamorous colours are essential for the festive period.

Natural Wicker Tree Skirt

Finally, to really finish off your tree, Gemma recommends a wicker tree skirt.

Gemma advised: “The wicker bit instantly dresses your tree up.

“If you’ve brought a cheaper tree, you can use a nice skirt to really dress them up.

“If you ever go into any places with Christmas trees on display, they always have one of these at the bottom.

“I think this one is really, really pretty”.
