WITH Christmas around the corner, it’s definitely the time for some comfort food. 

Luckily one thrifty mum has shared her slow cooker gammon recipe, with one surprise ingredient. 



Becky, known online as @beckyexcell, regularly shares quick and easy recipes with her 191,000 followers. 

In one of her recent videos, she shows how she cooks a gammon – using Pepsi. 

“Hello, my name is Becky and I am addicted to Pepsi so I cook my gammon in it, and yes, that is cherry flavour.  

“Not the best flavour, I prefer with a hint of lime, What about you?

“Anyway, this slow cooker gammon is so easy. Finish it off in the air fryer or in the oven if you want a sticky glaze. 

“And enjoy cold or as part of a roast din dins. 

“I get so many requests for gammon recipes at the moment so I thought I’d throw one your way. Slow cooker really keeps the cost down on this one too.” 

In the comments, she continued: “Ingredients: 1kg gammon, 1-litre cola (I used 3 cans), 3 tbsp wholegrain/dijon mustard, 3 tbsp honey.

“Method: 1) Place the gammon and cola in the slow cooker and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours. At this point, it is ready to serve. 

“2) BUT if you want to give it something a little bit extra. Mix together 3 tbsp wholegrain or dijon mustard with 3 tbsp honey.

“Place the gammon onto a foiled oven tray and then spread the glaze all over the gammon and pop in the oven for 20-25 minutes at 180C fan so the glaze can set or the air fryer for slightly less time

“3) Slice or pull it apart and enjoy!” 

Fans loved the easy recipe, with the video gaining more than 22,000 likes and 436,000 views.
