A WALMART employee has told how he is quitting his role after being overworked – but everyone says he is simply in the wrong department.

He explained that staff behind the scenes are burdened by an impossible number of tasks to keep the grocery store ticking over.

The frustrated staff member shared a TikTok video detailing his complaints that racked up a whopping 60,000 views.

Hemi told social media users: "If you’re fresh out of high school and you think that you’re just going to start working at Walmart, don’t do it."

He showed a huge whiteboard crammed with a humongous list of chores to complete throughout his short shift.

The employee claims he must complete every single one of the grueling jobs by himself before he clocks off.

Hemi said: "I come in at 4 o'clock and I leave at 10 o'clock.

"Minus a 30-minute lunch and a 15-minute break, I only work 5 hours and 15 minutes.

"I have all of this s**t to do by myself, no one else, no one else works here. There's all this s**t to deal with."

He then gives TikTokers an impromptu tour of the stock room, showing the countless number of product boxes he has to sort.

"I am one person doing the job of, at very least, 2 people," he added.

The employee claimed "this is why he is leaving" his job at Walmart in the caption of his clip.

However, social media users suggested there was a much simpler solution to his work woes than quitting.

The majority of the comment section was filled with people telling Hemi he was working in the wrong department.

One wrote: "You in the wrong department homie. Come to OPD we just sit here till we close!"

Another said: "I'm a cashier and literally all I have to do is scan people's groceries and talk to old people.

"Not hard if you pick the right department."

A third added: " Wrong department! I was doing apparel and dealt with this but now as a cashier its the easiest thing ever."

And a fourth chimed in: "I feel you, I work in produce alone everyday and hate it so much – but yours looks so much worse!"

Hemi explained to commenters that he had worked there for nearly four years and is berated by his "coach" if he does not complete all the tasks.

He wrote: " Although he's never there and never helps, he will coach you for 'not finishing a simple task'. So simple that he can't even finish it in time."

The TikToker also assured trolls he hadn't clocked in yet and started his shift before filming the video.

As the retail apocalypse tries to claim Walmart as its next victim, the retailer is closing a string of its stores.

Other staff members have shared their stories of what it is like to work for the discount chain.
