WHILE it's a common saying that money can't buy you class, fashion might be able to.

An elegance expert has shared the wardrobe essentials necessary for a classy fall look.

TikTok user Amira Bessette shared the top five clothing items you need for a classy fall wardrobe.

Amira's first suggestion involved making turtlenecks the staple of all your autumn attire.

The TikToker shared images of both oversized and fitted turtlenecks in a variety of colors.

Turtlenecks are warm and practical garments, but can also be dressed up with a necklace or statement earrings.

Amira also suggested classing up your look with a beret as your fall fashion statement.

The stylish hat can be paired with lots of looks, and can help on those days when your hair just isn't cooperating.

Next, the elegance expert recommended ditching your summer sandals for pointed Chelsea boots.

While rounded toes are casual and easy to pull off, pointed boots are regarded as being more formal in appearance.

Pleated trousers are also a good way to class up an outfit, according to Amira.

The concept of pleats in pants representing class dates back to World War II, when the extra fabric required for the pleat fell victim to government rationing.

And finally, the TikToker advised her followers to invest in wool dresses.

Midi wool dresses can be paired with a camel coat and boots to create a chic fall look.

TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the style tips.

"Sorry but berets look absolutely ridiculous… like a bad costume," said one viewer.

Another follower commented: "This is so my style."

"6: Be tall, skinny, and preferably blond," joked a third person.
