AN INTERIOR designer has revealed that there’s one colour that you must immediately ditch from your home if you want it to look expensive – and that’s grey.

According to Kreiss, who posts on TikTok under the username @kreissdesign, having grey in your home will make your house look cheap and uninviting.



Kreiss, who is based in Los Angeles, is an interior designer that specialises in luxury home furnishings.

He took to the video sharing platform to reveal his distaste for grey and encouraged people to opt for beige instead.

So if you followed the Mrs Hinch trend and your home is covered in grey carpets, curtains, sofas and more, it’s time to listen up.

Prepare to be attacked, as Kreiss advised: “Here's one key thing to avoid if you want your home to look luxurious and inviting.

Instead, Kreiss encouraged people to swap grey for beige instead.

He noted: “And don't sleep on a good beige, it never went out of style and it's coming back big time.

Kreiss’ video has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 970.4k views.

It has 37.2k likes, 1,874 comments and 2,520 shares.

Social media users were left divided at Kreiss’ claims – while some agreed and much preferred beige, others refused to remove their grey furnishings.

One person said: “I agree with you! My home is shades of black, tan, beige, whites, and creams! Love it!” 

Another added: “Yes!! Team beige.”

A third commented: “I’ve always hated grey and it’s coldness.”

Meanwhile, someone else disagreed: “Nope! Not giving up my grey!!!”

A second chimed in: “Never losing my grey, grey is a classy colour!”
