TAKE a look inside the most haunted Royal castle where spine-chilling ghostly footsteps echo through the corridors.
Windsor Castle is thought to be the spookiest residence with over 25 ghostly experiences reported.
The ghosts of Queen Elizabeth I, King Henry VIII and King George III have been among the many sighting claims made by visitors and employees.
According to Visit Britain, the Queen – who died in 1603 – can still "be heard on the bare floorboards, before her striking presence appears" in the library.
Witnesses have also described seeing a figure “looking longingly out of the window" of the room King George III spent his final days in.
Towards the end of his reign, King George was confined to a room in the castle after falling mentally ill.

Royal Central reports one officer shared an an account of a ghostly yet heart-warming sighting days after the King died in 1820 – he was still lying in state when it happened.

The castle is the resting place for many monarchs who have been buried there over the years.
Most recently Queen Elizabeth II was buried in King George VI Chapel with husband Prince Philip.
During the reign of King George IV, he and 1st baronet Sir Henry Halford opened the tombs of King Charles I and King Henry VIII.
