Jennifer Lawrence Rocks a Sheer Dior Gown For First Premiere Since Becoming a Mom

Returning to the fashion spotlight for the first time in months, Jennifer Lawrence exuded glamour at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of “Causeway” on Sept. 10. The star wore a sheer black dress for the occasion, marking her first red carpet appearance since becoming a mom earlier this year.

Pulled from the Dior Haute Couture autumn/winter 2022 collection, which debuted on the runway in July, Lawrence’s off-the-shoulder gown was made of an entirely see-through pleated silk chiffon material that moved beautifully as she posed for the cameras. Its puff sleeves gathered at the middle of her forearm, while the bodice was crisscrossed with thin black straps arranged in a geometric formation.

Styled by Kate Young, Lawrence introduced color with a few pops of green, including upside-down pear-shaped emerald Kwiat earrings and a vintage emerald and diamond René Boivin ring. She finished the look with strappy patent Gianvito Rossi sandals, her engagement ring from husband Cooke Maroney, and a casual side-swept hairstyle.

While Lawrence has been spotted around New York City this summer, the last time we saw her on the red carpet was at the world premiere of Netflix’s “Don’t Look Up” in December 2021, where she wowed in a sparkly caped Dior gown. As an ambassador for the French fashion house, the Hunger Games alum often sits front row at its Paris Fashion Week presentations, has starred in campaigns, and frequently reps its designs at events.
