Khloe Kardashian's 'soft girl era' look embraces her momsy side but does not mix well with plastic surgery, expert says | The Sun

SOFT girl culture is supposed to be a celebration of living authentically, embracing nature, and enjoying peaceful moments.

But according to a fashion expert, Khloe Kardashian's stab at the popular social media style trend comes off as "thoughtless."

On August 19, Khloe, 39, shared a series of vacation photos on Instagram in which she posed in a field of half-dying sunflowers in Italy.

In one image, the mom of two waved her tanned arm in the air and smiled as she closed her eyes.

While Khloe's heavy makeup and shock of blonde hair did not look unusual, her old-fashioned black dress appeared different.

Another image featured the Hulu star sitting on a stone wall wearing the same dress.

One fan wrote: "OK Khloe in her soft girl era, but the makeup is a bit too harsh for this look."

Commenting on another image of Khloe in a similarly-styled white and red floral dress, one follower added: "I had no clue this was Khloe."

In an exclusive interview, celebrity stylist Tavia Sharp told The U.S. Sun: "She could be getting paid by what looks like D&G, but the photos were not thought out properly at all.

"Even the sunflowers were drooping and some looked dead.

"Khloe was making an attempt at the soft girl era look.

"This should be all about love, being natural, traveling, and dressing femininely — this is not about being bold or powerful.

"While the soft girl era style is not what Khloe would be used to, it does not go with all the plastic surgery she appears to have had.

"Here we have an attempt at the soft girl look alongside cosmetic surgery, makeup, and dyed blonde hair.

"It really is quite a mix."

Sharp said that Khloe's efforts at softening up her style and channeling mother nature did make an impact.

"This is all attention-seeking as per usual for The Kardashians," she added.

"Khloe normally chooses in-your-face, bold, and riskier looks, just like her sisters.

"The other Kardashian women do not usually embrace this look, and it would not work for them either.

"The soft girl era look Khloe has chosen to try out here is not about being bold, sexy, or powerful.

"She is not supposed to look sexy or revealing, but she did get attention."

Khloe's Tuscany photo shoot also showed her posing with five-year-old True Thompson.

The mother and daughter's matching dresses seemed a far cry from Khloe’s rocky road to motherhood.

Given her on-off relationship with NBA star Tristan Thompson, 32, Khloes's parenting journey has been turbulent.

The couple got together in 2016. Khloe confirmed she was pregnant in 2017, with True arriving the following April.

After cheating allegations surfaced and the birth of Tristan's third child, the pair split.

Khloe welcomed Tatum Robert with Tristan and by surrogate in July 2022.

Sharp continued: "Khloe also might be trying to find some real connection with being a mom now.

"Maybe she is trying to embrace motherhood more and wanting to be more feminine helps this."

Ahead of her vacation, Khloe celebrated her son Tatum's birthday surrounded by friends and the Kardashian family.

"Khloe started trying the soft girl era look at her son's birthday," Tavia explained.

"It is the opposite of the boss babe look, which is what her sisters consistently do.

"Interestingly, at this party, Kris Jenner wore a baby doll denim dress. This also looked so odd.

"In fact, Kris's dress is just dreadful, and she looked a mess.

"Generally, Kris does the boss babe style because she usually wears power suits.

"Kris seemed to also be trying this soft girl era look here at this party, but for Kris, it was definitely not working either."

Khloe's journey in fashion has seen her set up the successful clothing brand Good American.

Interestingly, its mission is to celebrate all dimensions of female power as well as body confidence.

Khloe's sisters have also created their own fashion and beauty empires, which focus on how they want to look.

Sharp continued: "The Kardashians all blend into one with their looks and endeavors.

"Khloe's soft era dresses might be the one thing that is unique to the Kardashians, but facially she still looks like her sisters.

"They are all beginning to look exactly the same.

"Khloe might be attempting to branch out with her girl-next-door dresses.

"It fell flat because she looked like she had done a lot more to her face than I am used to seeing.
