Looking at my horrible fence made me yawn so I jazzed it up thanks to bargain buys from B&M – mean trolls still whine | The Sun

A WOMAN has revealed that she was tired of looking at her plain fence, so decided to jazz it up on a budget.

So if your fence is getting on your nerves, you’ll want to listen up.

First-time buyer Helena explained that she nabbed a £22 bargain buy from B&M to not only give her fence a glow up, but to add some much-needed privacy to her space too.

Posting on TikTok under the username @heyitshels, Helena showed off her cheap purchase and how she used it to elevate her plain fence.

She said: “I've been looking for a way to cover up some horrible fencing that I have on my second patio.

“I went to B&M and I found the perfect solution – I found this artificial Ivy leaf trellis.

I swapped my chain fence for a privacy one but people all say the same thing

I saved £9k & gave my council house garden a glow up with my DIY privacy fence

“So my plan was, I was going to put it on top of the fencing to create more privacy, add some greenery and just make it look like a really nice area, so I'll show you what it's like out of the packet.

“I got five of these because the patio is quite large.

“So this is it and then you can sort of stretch it to be how dense or as wide as you want, but I will show you what my patio looks like now and then I’ve got Dave to hold it up to show you what it could potentially look like.

“The garden is 200 feet and split on six levels. This area is used for the dining area for the barbeque hut, but it's very open and not a very nice space.

Helena’s video has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 59,800 views.

However, although Helena was thrilled with her bargain buys, not everyone was as keen.

Many social media users explained that the artificial ivy would fall apart quickly and would discolour from the sun.

One person said: “Plant some nice climbers instead. Can get lovely evergreen ones with scented flowers. Would be lovely & nicer than plastic.”

Another added: “Falls apart in no time as the rain rots the wooden background.”

A third commented: “They don’t last long though, [they] break easily.”

Someone else chimed in: “Remover this will really bleach with the sun.”
