Meghan Markle made a cameo appearance when Prince Harry joined James Cordon on The Late Late Show. The royal wore a blue summer dress with a matching necklace.

While on the American chat show, Prince Harry joined host James Cordon for a tour around Los Angeles, where he now lives with Meghan.

At one point, the Duchess of Sussex made a short cameo appearance as Harry video called her.

The royal was dressed for the warm LA weather wearing an off-the-shoulder blue summer dress.

It had short puff sleeves and a fitted ruffled bodice and cut off just above the knee.

The design was believed to be from Los Angeles based company Velvet Torch.

Not only was the dress stylish, but it was affordable as it was advertised on the Velvet Torch website for $29.97, or around £22.

Her long black hair was curled and styled into a middle parting which sat in front of her shoulders.

Meghan had a natural make-up look wearing a slick of bronzer and coat of mascara.

The mother-of-one also wore a necklace which featured a bright blue stone hanging from a gold chain.

It was reportedly from the brand The Class and was on sale for £1,033.41, although is now sold out.

All of the jewels sold on The Class website feature a description which gives more information about the type of stone.

In the description of the piece worn by Meghan, it is stated the jewel is set to represent “self-expression”.

It reads: “Lapis lazuli aids in self-expression and revelation of one’s inner truth.

“This stone is widely regarded as a token of sincerity and wisdom – and is especially helpful to anyone in need of a boost in self-confidence and a stronger connection to their inner voice.”

It is not known whether Meghan was aware of the necklace’s meaning when she got it, but the hidden message may have been important to the Duchess.

The 39-year-old has not made many appearances since she moved to LA with Prince Harry last year.

Most recently, the royal couple were seen for an interview with Oprah Winfrey to discuss their time in the Royal Family.

For the conversation, Meghan wore a black and white Giorgio Armani dress, costing £3,000.

She decorated the look with several pieces of jewellery, including a bracelet which once belonged to Princess Diana.

The diamond tennis bracelet has been worn by Meghan on several occasions over the years.

The royal line of succession – who outranks who?

The line of succession to the British throne dictates the order in which each member of the Royal Family would ascend to the throne.

It is also seen as a ranking of importance with the head of the line, the Queen, taking the place of ruler.

Older children come before younger children. Traditionally boys came before girls, but this law was changed on 26 March 2015 before the birth of Prince William’s first child.

Incredibly, Catholics are still excluded from the line of succession, as are children born outside of wedlock.

The royals, who usually stick to a strict protocol when appearing in public, often arrive at events in ascending order of importance, with the most important royal arriving last.

Prince Charles, 72, is currently first-in-line to the British throne, followed by Prince William, 38, his oldest son.

Then comes Prince William’s children, George, seven, Charlotte, five, and Louis, two, and they are followed by Prince Harry, 36. Prince Harry is succeeded by his son Archie Harrison, born in May 2019.
