My sister keeps calling my daughter by the wrong name – she even buys personalised gifts with other names on them | The Sun

PICKING a baby name is no easy task and once you've found the perfect moniker for your tot, you come to realise someone important to you absolutely hates it.

Unfortunately, this is the situation one mum has found herself in, after her sister refuses to call her daughter by the name she'd given her child.

The mortified women claimed her daughter's name is Rosie – however, Rosie's aunt doesn't deem it a legal name and instead, reckons it's a nickname.

This means that whenever she picks up personalised gifts for the child, she'll buy ones with names such as Rose, Rosemary, and Rosalie printed on the front.

''Our daughter's full legal name is Rosie, not any of those. None of those are what anyone calls her,'' the mum wrote in a post on Reddit.

"I thought the first one with Rose was a genuine mistake but she keeps buying these gifts with the wrong name.

''I brought it up to her and she said it's no big deal since most people will assume Rosie is a nickname and not her legal name.

''I told her that didn't mean her own family should use the wrong name for her."

The duo then proceeded to have an argument over which of them was making a "big deal" out of the situation, with Rosie's mum insisting her sister was being "rude" by purposefully using the wrong name.

She went on: "She told me she would never understand the decision anyway.
