Selena Gomez just gave the corset top renewed momentum. Teasing a collaboration with Nigerian musician Rema, she shared a glimpse of the remix video she will star in on her Instagram Story. The short preview features the duo hanging around a silver Porsche convertible while moving to the beat of their joint remix playing overhead.
Gomez is clad in a formfitting, scoop-neck corset with a boned bodice, exuding a cool ’90s vibe. The structured design is cut in a gray denim fabric that curves at the hem and is worn with silky, high-waist trousers in a rich brown shade, large gold hoops, a matching necklace, and black pointy heels. Meanwhile, Rema looks carefree in the background, rocking a dark, navy plaid shirt layered over a white tee with matching Bermuda shorts.
The music video is set to be released on Friday, Aug. 26, and Gomez shared more about the collaboration in a video montage posted to her feed. In a few of the clips, she shows off a black tank that’s tucked into a bedazzled red skirt featuring a thigh-high slit. She also expressed her excitement about being involved in the project: “The song’s fun, I really hope people like it,” she said.
This isn’t the first time Gomez has successfully embraced popular silhouettes from decades past. Back in July, she was photographed in a ’60s-inspired yellow fit-and-flare dress by Haitian designer Victor Glemaud at an event in London. Late in the spring, she also made an appearance at the White House in a black shift dress by Oscar de la Renta.
Ahead, shop a similar denim corset top.
