A WOMAN has been left stunned after she found what the mysterious plant growing in her garden was.
The new mum was excited to see new stems forming in her front yard and decided to wait and see what would bloom.
Amanda Rains shared her mystery new garden edition in a TikTok video online.
She called it: “My cute little surprise plant.”
She said: “This plant randomly started growing in our front landscaping a few months ago
Amanda said she thought the plant looked interesting so she let it continue to grow.

She added: “About three weeks ago it sprouted flowers.”
Soon after flowers bloomed Amanda noticed little green bulbs forming.
She said: “And now little green bulbs have grown where the flowers were.”
Amanda said she wasn’t sure what the little plant was but hoped it was cherry tomatoes forming.

She said: “I’ve checked google and it looks like maybe cherry tomatoes?”
Amanda’s video went viral with over a million views.

But it turns out Amanda's mystery plant was definitely not tomatoes, many TikTok users left comments warning her she was in fact growing a poisonous plant.
Viewers believed Amanda’s new front garden editions was Pokeweed also know as Phytolacca americana.
Pokeweed is a simple plant but the berries it grows become poisonous once they and the roots turn red."
One user said: “It's pokeweed and it's highly poisonous to humans and pets. But birds love the berries.”
Another warned: “Pokeweed. Don’t let it get big. The root system will let it keep coming back.”
“Definitely not cherry tomatoes!” said a third.
