'You're in for a treat!' My Christmas garlic bread recipe is a game changer and contains pigs in blankets AND brie | The Sun

IF ever there’s a time to go all out with food, it’s most definitely the festive season.

But if you’re fed up with all the traditional dishes from roast dinners to leftover turkey, a foodie has you covered.

A dad-of-three, who loves to cook and goes by the name Grumpy Northern Foodie on TikTok, has unveiled his quick and easy recipe for pigs in blanket stuffed garlic bread.

And if that doesn’t sound tempting enough, he revealed it goes one step further – as it contains melted brie.

The social media food influencer, whose profile is @grumpynorthernfoodie, shared the step-by-step guide on his page.

He explained: “Guys, you’re in for a treat with this one.

“This is pigs in blanket and brie stuffed garlic bread.

“I’ve been mega excited to make this recipe, and, guys, it is not going to disappoint.

“This one is dead easy to make and I’m going to show you how.”

The home cook then launched into the method, as he continued: “You can either make your own pigs in blankets, or buy them ready made.

“All you need to do is get them cooking in the air fryer.”

He then moved onto the garlic bread base, as he recommended the fresh baguettes you can buy in the chilled section in supermarkets.

@grumpynorthernfoodie then added: “Gently slice down the middle [of each baguette] and be gentle when prizing it open.

“Then just fill the bottom with a little bit of grated cheese [of your choice] and pop it in the oven for five minutes.”

Next, it’s time to take your packet of brie and prepare it to be placed into the bread.

He went on to say “With the brie, cut off all the edges, because they don’t taste very nice when they’re melted.”

And then it’s time for the fun part – to assemble the tasty snack.

He explained: “Once your garlic bread is partially cooked, get your pigs in blankets out of the air fryer and get stuffing that garlic bread.”

He showed how he first added a layer of the mini bacon-wrapped sausages in a line, before loading the chopped brie on top.

The final step is to “pop the whole thing back in the oven for another five minutes.”

And the finishing touch is to spread on some cranberry sauce and a dunking pot of gravy for an extra festive twist.

The result? @grumpynorthernfoodie said: “Welcome to a little bit of heaven!”
