Aldi’s £10 bottle of wine is a dupe for Meghan Markle’s favourite £150 Italian bottle

It's almost time for cosy nights in with your favourite glass of red wine and luckily for you, one savvy shopper has found an Aldi bottle that tastes just like Meghan Markle’s favourite for a fraction of the price.

One vino connoisseur took to TikTok to share the ultimate bottle of Italian red wine they found in Aldi for just £9.99 which is meant to be a luxe dupe of the Duchess of Sussex's go-to £150 bottle. Frequently posting to his TikTok account @TheWineWally, Liam has a whopping 17.9K followers from recommending taste-tingling tipples.

His most recent video on the Aldi dupe received over 800K views as he shared the "secret" with wine lovers. Taking a video as he walked into Aldi to disclose the bottle of wine he said: "You and I know Aldi love a good dupe but did you know there is a secret red wine dupe hiding in plain sight on the shelves right now?"

As he headed to the booze aisle, Liam grabbed the bottle of wine from the shelf to reveal the Specially Selected Toscana Rosso which comes in at just £9.99. The label describes it as having a "medium, full bodied taste".

The vino guru explained that it is "inspired by a famous Italian red from Tuscany called Tignanello" and is "one of the most influential wines in the history of Italian winemaking." The luxurious Tignanello comes in at £150 per bottle and is a favourite among celebrities, including the duchess.

So much so that Meghan's former blog, The Tig was reportedly inspired by the wine, even more reason to try the Aldi dupe for a slither of the price. While Liam admitted he hasn't tried the pricey Tignanello vino, he did try the £9.99 bottle and said it's "elegant, smooth, and bursting with floral and bright fruit flavours".

Gushing over the wine even further, Liam explained that it also had "rave reviews on Saturday Kitchen this weekend". He concluded his video by saying "cheers" which was flooded with comments from wine lovers around.

One said: "I've had this and it's gorgeous."

A second added: "It's awesome! Shhh don't tell anyone."

"This was down to £5.99 a few months ago and honestly it's the nicest wine I've ever drank", commented another.

"Just got it – had to go to two different Aldis but was worth it, it’s lush", gushed one more.

Another shopper made sure to stock up and said: "I got the last 24 bottles from my local Aldi after seeing the review on Saturday Kitchen. I have to say it's excellent."

Although others disagreed as one wrote: "Tastes completely different I'm afraid but it's decent none the less."

"It's not a dupe at all", expressed a second.

If you're looking to give the wine a go, you can find it at your local Aldi store for £9.99 or online here. Hurry while stocks last!
