Aldi shoppers love the store's new Christmas advert – after its social media post featured a delightful surprise.
The discount retailer debuted it's holiday promo for 2023 today (November 6) and shoppers were ecstatic to see the return of beloved cartoon veggie "Kevin the Carrot". The loveable mascot has became a festive favourite over the last few years.
Viewers have seen him go through a lot since he first emerged on our TV screens back in 2016 – including meeting Santa and marrying a female carrot named Katie. At one point, it was even feared that Aldi had "killed off" the veggie, leaving fans heartbroken.

But he's made a triumphant return in this year's ad. Kevin has a starring role in the Willy Wonka-themed ad, where he is accompanied by his Grate Grandad and a gang of fruit and veg – including the ‘Greedy, Gluttonous Grape’, 'Sulky, Sour Rhubarb' and ‘Naughty Green Kiwi'.
The group, which are based on the children from the Roald Dahl classic, head to William Conker’s Magical Christmas Factory and are tested on whether they know the value of 'being good'. But Kevin is the only one who makes it to the end as he is the only visitor with good manners.
Fans have once again fallen in love with the cartoon character as the advert was shared on (X) Twitter with a surprise.
On the social media app, when fans like the video, they are greeted by a miniature Kevin the Carrot icon before it turns to a heart.
Viewers immediately took to the comments amazed by the feature. One user wrote: "Even the like button is a carrot!." Another added; "A delightful surprise."
A third commented: "Wait, did my 'like' turn into a carrot before it turned into a heart?!" Meanwhile, a fourth added: " Great ad! And the 'like' button is Kevin!"
