Cheapest supermarket for World Cup food and drink deals revealed with prices from 99p | The Sun

THE World Cup kicks off this weekend and footy fans are set to splash £1billion on food and drink during the tournament watching the beautiful game at home.

The figures by VoucherCodes.co.uk come as the competition is held over the UK winter for the first time.

To help households net some big savings, we’ve found the cheapest supermarket deals for pizza, crisps, beers and more.  

Prices were correct when we looked but supermarkets frequently change offers so make sure you check before buying.

It’s always worth comparing different retailers to make sure you get the best value for your money – and factor in delivery cost if you’re ordering online.

Here are the best deals we found on food and drink that will have you cheering over the next four weeks.

Co-op

Co-op has a winning meal deal for the World Cup: two pizzas and a four-pack of beer for £6.

The offer is available until December 13.

Don’t fancy pizza? Pick up any two packs of party food for £5, which includes Mac & Cheese bites and mini duck spring rolls.

Members of the supermarket can also access the cheapest prices for Pringles we could find – £1.25 a tube – until December 6.

Non-members pay £1.65, which is broadly in line with offers from other supermarkets.

Morrisons

Kick off match day with Morrison’s Best Breakfast Pack, £2.99, launched especially for the World Cup.

It includes four of The Best pork sausages and bacon rashers, as well as a black pudding ring and a sachet of Bloody Mary ketchup.

The store is also offering fun "create your own shirt number pepperoni pizza" for £4.50, as well as a giant football cookie for £7.

If you fancy laying on a spread, you can grab any two packs of party food and get a third free.

The range includes onion bhajis, prawn toast and mini deep dish cheese and tomato pizzas.  

Sharing bags of Sensations crisps have prices cut from £2 to £1.50.

And drinks promotions for the tournament include 99p ales and two for £20 world beers.

Aldi

Especially for the international tournament, Aldi has launched four limited-edition World Cup beers.

Each can is branded with football kits from either England, Australia, Japan or Germany and priced at a budget-friendly £1.69.  

Aldi offers sharing packs of Perfections crisps in Thai sweet chilli and roast chicken and thyme flavours priced at £1.19 a bag – making them a cheaper alternative to Sensations.   

The budget supermarket also sells Snackrite Stackers, which are similar to Pringles, costing £1.25 a tube.

And Aldi’s specially selected sharing bags of crisps are available in a variety of flavours for 99p each.

Iceland

The Pizza World Cup meal deal at Iceland features two Chicago Town tiger crust pizzas and two sides for £8 – plus you get a FREE football.

The offer is online and in-store until November 28.

Or the supermarket is offering a Chicago Town takeaway pizza plus drink – either a four-pack of Carlsberg or an eight-pack of Pepsi Max – for £10 until November 29 online only.

There is also an offer of three for £5 on party food, including chicken skewers and cheese popcorn bites.

Stock up and net some big savings on soft drinks at Iceland, with any two 24-packs for £17 or any five packs for £40 online only.

Coca Cola, Pepsi Max, Tango and 7UP are all included in the offer.   

Tesco

You’ll be wise to stock up on plenty of snacks for all the games during the World Cup.

Tesco has Pringles original, sour cream and Texas bbq flavours down to £1.65 a tube from the normal price of £2 for Clubcard customers.  

Doritos cool original, chilli heatwave and tang cheese flavours are also on offer for £1.50 a bag, from £2, for Clubcard customers until December 6.

The supermarket also has three for £6 across party foods, including pepperoni pizza parcels and sticky chicken kebabs, until December 2.

Clubcard members can also grab an 18-pack of Strongbow is £10, down from the normal £12.99.

And an 18-pack of Fosters is on offer at £10 from £13.99 until December 4.

Asda

Throw a couple of pizzas in the oven for fuss-free matchday dinners.

Asda has a meal deal of one pizza plus one garlic bread for £5.50. Or you can get two fresh pizzas plus a big bottle of fizzy drink for £6.

The store is also offering two mains, two sides and one big drink for £10.  

In terms of snacks, bags of Sensations Thai coated peanuts have had the price cut from £1.99 to £1.25.

And you can pick up three multipack of crisps for £4.25.  

Keep the drinks flowing with two 2litre bottles of coke for £3.  

Or mix and match on two packs of lager including Peroni, Stella and Budweiser for £20.  

Select alcohol is mix and match any four for three – tins of Tanqueray gin and tonic and bottles of Rekorderlig cider are among the drinks in this offer.

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s has some great deals when you double up and buy two packs of beers.

For example, a 10-pack of Stella Artois is £12 – or you can buy two for £16, meaning the second only costs an extra £4.

Budweiser, Corona, San Miguel, Carling Original, Estrella Dam and Birra Moretti are among the lagers offered at two packs for £20.

There are also some good deals on snacks, with the price of sharing packs of Kettle Chips cut from £2.40 to £1.50.

Mirroring Morrisons, sharing bags of Walkers Sensation are also down from £2 to £1.50.

Sainsbury’s taste the difference sea salt and cider vinegar crisps are sharing size and have a great regular price of £1.25.

Lidl

Pick up an easy game day dinner from Lidl.

The store’s Budweiser food range includes chilli and lime chicken wings, £3.99, Budweiser sweet and sticky bbq ribs, £4.99, and sweet and spicy bbq ribs, £3.99.  

You can also get a six-pack of Super Bock beer for £4.49 or a four-pack of Corona for £4.99.
