CARRY on caravanning! More of us than ever will hit the road in a camper for a holiday this summer.

It’s a great way to have a bargain break and enjoy the best the UK has to offer. Follow these tips to trim your costs even more . . .

PLAN AHEAD: Write a list of extra bits you can bring to a caravan site from home — for example foil, tea towels, washing-up sponges and washing-up liquid.

For the bathroom, shower gel and hand soap and loo roll.

DAYS OUT: Heading to a new holiday park? Research the area before you go and book tickets to attractions in advance, as it’s often cheaper.

If one of your gang wants to sneak off to watch any sport, head to a Hungry Horse Pub and download their Season Ticket app, where you can usually claim a free welcome drink.

PACKED LUNCHES: Make sarnies in advance and freeze, so you can serve packed lunches for everyone for the first few days. Morrisons is selling 20 packs of crisps for £2.25, down from £2.50, which you can add to the sandwiches.

Avoid having to spend extra on sweets by stashing a few Haribo packs to dish out while away. Aldi sells 21 mini packs for £1.89.

BATCH, PLEASE: Create family-style one-pot dishes that you can quickly reheat.

See fareshare.org.uk for a list of family recipes created by leading chef Tom Kerridge.
