Football accumulator tips for THIS week (26-27 September 2023) | The Sun

THE CARABAO CUP continues this week, and there's some added spice with the big boys now entering the competition.

Champions League quartet Manchester City, Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester United are now involved, along with those competing in the Europa and Conference Leagues.

And that makes for some tasty ties with Newcastle taking on Manchester City at St James' Park, while Chelsea host in-form Brighton at Stamford Bridge.

There's a total of five all-Premier League ties, while there's plenty of lower league sides all looking to navigate their way through to the last 16.

Routine wins or giant killings? We've got both in our midweek treble, which pays 4/1, and two extra bonus tips which could the acca up to 22/1 if you're feeling confident!

🥅 Chelsea vs Brighton: Chelsea to win (11/8)

Chelsea are absolutely desperate for a win, and Brighton have bigger fish to fry. That could be the remedy for success for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

The Blues only have one league win under their belts this season, but their attacking and defensive stats tell another story. Only Liverpool, Manchester City, Brighton and Tottenham have registered more attempts on goal, and their xG stands at 11.61 – the sixth best in the Premier League.

Brighton, meanwhile, are gearing up for their fourth match in 12 days and are still acclimatising to their new Thursday-Sunday routine. Roberto De Zerbi will rotate again, but has fixtures against Aston Villa, Marseille and Liverpool to prepare for.

Add Chelsea to win to your acca at 11/8 with bet365

🥅 Aston Villa vs Everton: Aston Villa to win (8/11)

This should be a routine win for Aston Villa. Unai Emery's side are fresh off the back of a cracking 1-0 win over Chelsea, and have already beaten Everton 4-0 at Villa Park back in August.

The Toffees, though claiming their first win of the season over Brentford, are in a relegation battle and will have their sights firmly set on a six-pointer against Luton on Saturday.

Put Aston Villa to win in your acca at 8/11 with bet365

🥅 Port Vale vs Sutton: Port Vale to qualify (4/11)

It's been an atrocious start to the campaign for Sutton. The club are bottom of League Two having collected just four points from their opening nine matches.

Matt Gray's side have lost eight of their last ten games in all competitions, and have conceded a league-high 21 goals. The same cannot be said for League One outfit Port Vale, who are sat in fourth position and have genuine promotion hopes.

They've stumbled a bit after six-consecutive wins, but should have more than enough to secure safe passage into the fourth round and perhaps a big-name tie.

Choose Port Vale to qualify at 4/11 with bet365

Add the following two bets to make it a 5-fold acca.

🥅 Brentford vs Arsenal: Both teams to score (8/13)

Two of the league's most entertaining sides pit their wits at the Gtech Community Stadium.

All four of Brentford's home fixtures have seen BTTS completed with a bumper 14 goals scored. The story isn't too dissimilar at Arsenal, who've managed only three clean sheets in their seven competitive outings this season.

The pair have met eight times over the years with both sides netting in five of those.

🥅 Newcastle vs Manchester City: Newcastle to win (19/10)

We might just be looking at Newcastle's first win over Manchester City since 2019, and at a very tidy price of 21/10 with most bookmakers. The Magpies have lost eight of their last nine games against the champions, including a 1-0 loss earlier this season at the Etihad.

However, the Cityzens are experiencing somewhat of an injury crisis with John Stones, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic all sidelined through injury. Pep Guardiola's side will also be without midfield lynchpin Rodri after his dismissal against Nottingham Forest over the weekend.

Sunday's 8-0 victory was a statement win for Eddie Howe that will keep spirits high at St James' Park and add to the belief that they can make their mark domestically, as well as in Europe, this season.
