Granddaughter is distraught after her mother left her nothing in will | The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: MY granddaughter is distraught after inheriting nothing in her mother’s will.

Her mum – my daughter-in-law – was wealthy but died of alcoholism at just 61.

I’m 81 and my 34-year-old granddaughter is a single mum to three boys. She had her own home but struggles to make ends meet.

After her brother and a sister rocked up to see their mother, the will got altered. I think they manipulated her into changing it.

When she died, everything was left to the two of them.

The money my granddaughter has missed out on would do so much for her and the kids. How can I help her?

DEIDRE SAYS: If she feels her mother was not mentally of sound mind when her will was changed, then she could appeal. But it could well be costly. She is best getting legal advice.

She can get hold of a copy of the will for a small charge through hmcourts-service.gov.uk, by giving her mother’s name, address and date of death.
