I’m A Celeb contestants’ secret signals to family including Chris Moyles’ message to girlfriend

This year's series of I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is well underway, with the celebrity contestants settling into camp and already taking on a series of gruelling trials.

Stars including Boy George, Mike Tindall and Jill Scott are all slowly getting used to life in the Australian jungle, and there's no doubt that they're already missing their loved ones back at home.

Some contestants have thought up secret ways to send their family and friends a message while they're on the show, as they have no way of contacting the outside world.

Chris Moyles, 48, could be seen sending a secret signal to his longterm girlfriend Tiffany Austin during a recent episode of the hit ITV show.

The radio DJ, who has been dating talent manager Tiffany since 2015, took the opportunity to send a 'message' to his other half when Ant and Dec went live from the camp to reveal who had been voted to take on the first trial of the series.

As the camera panned to Chris, he held up his hands to create a letter 'T' – a clear code to his girlfriend.

The loved-up couple went public with their romance in 2017 after meeting in Los Angeles back in 2015. Tiffany, who hails from Beverley Hills, has since relocated to the UK to be with her beau and the pair's romance has continued to go from strength to strength.

Chris isn't the only campmate who has thought up a secret signal, with ITV news presenter Charlene White, 42, also having one to let her loved ones know she's OK while on the show.

Charlene's Loose Women co-stars, Janet Street Porter, Linda Robson and Christine Lampard recently discussed her appearance on I'm A Celebrity, with Christine revealing the signal Charlene will be using.

Christine explained: "So apparently this is to let us know, and her family know that everything is going OK. Apparently she's going to be rubbing her ear whilst doing this so it looks like an L!"

Charlene will no doubt be aiming to let her husband Andy and their two children, Alfie, five, and Florence, three, know she's doing OK in the jungle while she cannot directly contact them.

Also looking to let his family know he's missing them is Owen Warner, 23, who opened up about his close relationship with his mum before entering the jungle.

The Hollyoaks actor, who portrays Romeo Nightingale on the soap, revealed he has a sweet signal to let his mum, Polly, know he's missing her.

Speaking to The Sun, Owen said: “I will give her a little one of these [makes a half heart with his hand] it is a love heart, and she does the other half.”

In previous series, many contestants have thought up ways to send messages to their families when the show is live on air.

2021 winner Giovanna Fletcher, 37, would always put her thumb up to her nose and wiggle her fingers when she was on camera, sending a signal to her three sons, Buzz, eight, Buddy, six, and Max, four, who she shares with husband Tom Fletcher, 37.

I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! airs on ITV at 9pm.
