A dating coach has revealed three things men say that he considers to be red flags when dating.

Jacob Lucas is a UK-based coach who has used his real-life methods to ‘help millions of people get the love life they have always wanted’.

He is the author of the guidebook Her Dating Coach, a creator on TikTok, where he has more than 765,000 followers, and he works directly with clients.

In a video, he shared three things men say that he described as ‘red flags’, captioning the clip ‘do you know anyone who says these things to you?’.

Text onscreen described the conversational points he wanted to discuss, as well as a reason for why he was believed these things are potentially problematic within dating.

Jacob’s video clip opens with text onscreen that reads: ‘3 things that men say to you that are red flags.’

The first point is: ‘When he tells you he has a lot of money.’

Further text onscreen then explains why this is potentially a red flag.

It says: ‘People who have a lot of money usually don’t brag about it.’

The second point raised in the video is: ‘When he is trying to explain to you why he’s an Alpha Male.’

This is problematic, the video says, because it is  ‘like he is trying to convince himself he is’.

The final point raised in the video relates to how the speaks about his ex – and in this case, the context (as in, when he says it) is also a factor.

It says: ‘When he’s trying to explain to you why his ex was in the wrong whilst on a date with you.’

Jacob followed up the video with a second part, which was similarly titled  3 things that men say to you that are red flags – Part 2.

The points he shares in this instalment pertain more to positive traits some men say they have – and why it can be a warning sign when men verbalise having these traits.

In text superimposed onscreen, the first point says: ‘He ALWAYS tells you he’s ‘such an HONEST guy’ for no reason.’

This, Jacob explains in the video, is ‘very suspicious’.

The second thing the dating expert raises as a red flag is when a man ‘tells you he can ‘get any woman he wants’.

Humorously, Jacob points out: ‘He definitely can’t.’

Finally, the third red flag he raises in part 2 of the series, relates to when it seems like someone is trying too hard.

Jacob writes onscreen: ‘He’s ALWAYS trying to convince you he’s a REALLY GOOD GUY.’

This, he says, is potentially problematic because: ‘If he’s a good guy he won’t need to convince you.’
