I'm worried my partner is going to drink himself to death | The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: WHEN my 12-year-old granddaughter asked my partner if he was an alcoholic, I thought it would be the wake-up call he needed to stop drinking.

But even that hasn’t shocked him, and I’m terrified he’s drinking himself to death.

He is 56 and drinks at least three bottles of wine a day. I’m 55, and we’ve been together for 33 years.

Now, he starts drinking in the morning and doesn’t stop until he falls into bed.

He’s started having health issues but he won’t go to the doctor because he doesn’t want to face reality.

We no longer have a relationship and he’s not capable of working or looking after himself. I can’t take it any more. What can I do?
