Countdown star Carol Voderman just took to Instagram to share her most recent trip to Jordan with her 311K followers. The 62 year old jetted off with her son, Cameron and what appears to be other family members and friends, as he got ready to celebrate his 26th birthday.
The presenter captioned the video: “My Cam’s birthday in Jordan” before sharing her thoughts on the country, including how generous and kind the people are.
“Jordan is a wonderful country with kind and spirited people,” she continued.
“We have been spoiled. Cam was spoiled.
Over the last 10 years Jordan has taken around 4 million refugees, mainly from Syria. Their population was only 7 million to start with but they’ve welcomed them. It’s the Jordanian nature.
She added: "When the Syrians first started crossing the border driven by war and unimaginable destruction behind, shopkeepers everywhere would give things away and have signs up saying for instance. Bread 6 JD for Jordanians bread FREE for Syrians
"Now there is a kind heart.”
During the actual footage that she posted to her grid, it seems Carol captured the natural beauty of the country, too.
From roadside fresh fruit and veg markets to the famous Amman Citadel (an archeological site at the centre of downtown Amman, the country’s capital) to classic sightseeing, we’re pretty sure Carol and co have now added the country to many people’s bucket lists across the country and beyond.
In terms of the birthday celebrations, the TV personality also provided fans a rare glimpse of her family life. Cameron, who she shares with her ex-husband, Patrick King (they also have a daughter, Katie, 32), was seen being serenaded as he blew out the candles on his cake.
There was also a sweet moment where Carol – dressed in a figure-hugging navy blue dress – kissed her son on the head and tightly squeezed him. Plus, shots of the mother and son duo posing for selfie videos as they explored the incredible sites of Jordan.
This heartwarming video comes just one day after Valentine’s, where the Pride of Britain Awards presenter shared another loving post, this time, celebrating all the incredible people in her life.
Aptly dressed in a red high neck dress with her classic honey blonde locks resting on her shoulders, she specifically dedicated the ‘day of love’ to “every kind person on this planet and to all singletons who don’t feel they need just one person to “complete” them.” Aw!
