Kate Middleton is no stranger to recycling outfits, and fans are going wild over her latest fashion rewear.
The Princess of Wales wrapped up warm against the chilly Cardiff weather in a Catherine Walker red and white houndstooth coat as she watched the much anticipated England vs Wales rugby match at the 2023 Six Nations.
With its eye-catching houndstooth pattern, tweed texture, and double breasted buttons, the tailored coat made quite the impact at the match as Kate was filmed singing the Welsh national anthem alongside Prince William, who is a patron of the Welsh Rugby Union.
Princess Kate and Prince William visited injured players before the match began, then stood side by side cheering on the players with William, who was also sporting a red tie and scarf to show his support for the Welsh team.
The coat first caused a big stir amongst fans of the Princess’ wardrobe when she first wore it in 2018 during her pregnancy with Prince Louis whilst attending the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.
Many fans were thrilled to see the Princess rewearing her wardrobe, something which she has become well known for over the years.
The mum of three styled the £850 statement coat with a black turtleneck and leather gloves, with black tights and boots to help her stay warm during the match. She also carried a cream handbag.
Previously, the Royal had paired the coat with a burgundy Chanel handbag with an ornate handle – another item she is particularly fond of reusing again and again. She’d also opted for nude tights and heeled pumps, showing how versatile the coat is.
Princess Kate has long been a fan of Catherine Walker’s designs, and the couture house offers a sweet family history too.
The designer was a firm favourite with Kate’s late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales, making her choice to wear the coat to cheer on Wales even more touching.
The brand had previously created a bespoke wardrobe for Princess Diana, including designs she wore during her visit to South Asia, and the black dress she purchased just weeks before her death and then buried in.
Kate often pays tribute to Princess Diana with her fashion choices, including a two-piece ensemble design by Catherine Walker to wear during her tour of Pakistan in 2019, which was also inspired by an outfit created for Diana.
