Lad, 24, so obsessed with the 90s he transformed home and uses old Nokia phone

The world might have woken up with a sore head after welcoming in 2023 – but Jack Walters has woken up in 1998.

Jack loves the 90s so much he lives in the past – and is looking forward to another 12 months of reliving his favourite year.

He lives in a world where we were waving goodbye to a year where Tony Blair had become Prime Minister, Princess Diana passed away, and the Spice Girls had just had their second Christmas number one with Too Much.

Jack says he’s happier living in a simpler time – and has transformed his home in Tideswell, Derbyshire, into a nineties paradise.

He has a mountain of technology from the 90s, shunning Netflix for watching videos on VCR and Spotify for a trusty Walkman.

And his HI-FI rings out with the tunes of Now That’s What I Call Music – volumes 20 – 45, encompassing 1990 to 1999.

And although he does own a smartphone, he admits he much prefers his ‘proper’ phone – a Nokia 2110, complete with classic annoying ringtone.

Despite Jack not being able to remember any of the decade himself, as he was only born in 1998, he loves the simpler vibe of the last century.

He said: “I just love everything about the 90s.

“Although I’m too young to remember it, a lot of the decor reminds me of my family home, and my grandma’s house too.

"There’s something nice about feeling like you’re going home to your mum’s house every night.”

Jack even drives a 90s car – after buying a top spec 1995 Ford Mondeo – complete with electric windows and CD changer in the boot.
