A MAJOR coffee chain with more than 2,000 sites is shutting more branches.
Costa Coffee is pulling down the shutters on two cafes in the coming days, following a string of other closures.
The high street favourite has closed six stores in recent months.
Although, one of the sites is only closed temporarily for renovation, and another branch is being relocated.
Next weekend will see the chain's Oakham branch, in the East Midlands, pull down its shutters for a final time.
The Church Street cafe will close on September 15.

Two family restaurant chains ‘could be sold to rival’ following closures
Costa in West Bridgford, near Nottingham, will close in the following week on September 22.
Both sites will remain open until their final day and are operating as usual.
Costa Coffee fans in Oakham can continue to grab their favourite drink at the nearby drive-thru in Lands End Way.
While those in West Bridgford can visit the nearby store in Daleside Road, Nottingham.

Both of the sites' staff have been redeployed to close-by shops Costa has confirmed.
The coffee-chain has closed the doors for a final time at four more of its shops over the past few months.
Another shop in the Coliseum retail park in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, closed on June 3.
Back on June 5 its site in Welch Way, Witney, pulled the shutters down, with customers being directed to other nearby stores.
The chain also shut up shop at its Wigan town centre branch on June 25 this year.
Last month on July 9 Costa in Five Rise shopping centre in Bingley also shut, with coffee lovers being directed to the nearby Keighley branch.
Meanwhile, two of the chain's sites have closed but will reopen later this year with one in Worcester moving a few doors down this autumn – although no exact date has been specified.
Another cafe in Lowestoft's North Quay retail park in Suffolk closed its doors on July 23.
The chain is treating the shop to a whole new look and it will be reopening later this year.
It will have a new interior and a whole new drive-thru lane added to it.
It will then reopen later this year, with all staff being redeployed at close-by sites until then.
Costa regularly reviews its store estate across the UK to ensure it's right for its communities and teams.
This can include the closing or renovation of existing stores, or the opening of new stores.
Food and drink chains in general have been suffering in recent months as the cost of living has led to fewer people spending on eating out.
Businesses had been struggling to bounce back after the pandemic, only to be hit with soaring energy bills and inflation.
Multiple chains have been affected, resulting in big name brands like Wetherspoons and Frankie & Benny's closing branches.
Back in January, burger chain Byron Burger collapsed into administration resulting in the loss of over 200 jobs.
Prezzo, the Italian chain, also revealed plans to shut 46 restaurants back in April as a result of soaring energy and food costs, putting 810 jobs at risk.
Although some chains have managed to persevere, like Greggs which plans to open 150 new sites by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, two family favourite restaurant chains "could be sold" to a major rival after shuttering dozens of branches.
Elsewhere, a major supermarket with 2,800 sites is set to close two stores for good.
