Michelle Keegan wows with new bum-length hair makeover

We’re totally used to Michelle Keegan dishing out #hairgoals every time we see her, but the actress’s latest hair look might just be her most striking yet.

In a recent snap shared to her Instagram Stories, Michelle is sporting a high ponytail with a wave of curly extensions tumbling down her back, reaching past her waist and almost to her bum. The ponytail is tied with a black ribbon, with honey-coloured highlights running through the lengths.

Although the 35-year-old nearly always wears her dark brunette hair chest-length or longer, we’ve never seen it quite THIS long before, so we’d hazard a guess that this look was created for the filming of Sky comedy Brassic. In the show Michelle’s character Erin usually wears her hair down to her waist, piled high on her head and styled into bouncy curls.

Clearly we’re not the only ones obsessed with Michelle’s hair either, as she mentioned in a later Story that she’d “had a lot of messages asking about what colour I use on my hair.”

“I leave that all to @calumtierney to work his magic,” she answered, directing fans to her regular colourist, Cheshire-based Calum Tierney.

We reckon that Michelle – who recently celebrated her seventh wedding anniversary with husband Mark Wright – may be rocking a colour technique which Calum terms a “mocha melt”. This is a shade rich in warm tones but still featuring some sunkissed accents towards the ends of the hair, and which Calum has also done on fellow former Corrie star Faye Brookes recently.

Earlier this year Calum let us in on a few of Michelle’s hair colour secrets, revealing to OK! that he had used an “airtouch balayage” technique to give the star a flattering “bronde” colour.

“This is my signature colour technique called colour contour. I’ve used this to take Michelle’s hair a bit lighter than usual,” he told us. “I used Wella hair colour, and since we wanted to go a little sunkissed with look, I used an airtouch balayage technique at the back of the head, and I colour contoured the front sections.

“It’s a super low-maintenance look, and the contoured sections at the front help to lift and brighten the skin.”
