The search for the perfect bra can be a challenging one filled with uncomfortable underwiring, hundreds of different styles, and hours spent in the changing rooms trying to find the right fit.

According toresearch from lingerie experts Boux Avenue , 81% of women are wearing the wrong sized bra, but even when you get professionally measured it can be tricky to find a bra that suits your shape, fits properly, and keeps your feeling both comfortable and supported.

However, shoppers think they’ve found the answer to all of their problems, and it comes from high-street faves Marks and Spencer.

The Non Wired Seamless Crop Top, £8.50 here (was £14), is part of the brand’s Angel range which was designed to support developing busts, and has been lauded as comfortable and supportive.

The bralette is wire-free and has lightly padded cups to help create a smooth, rounded shape, whilst the seamless fabric makes sure it doesn’t show through your clothes.

A wide stretchy underband also helps make it more comfortable to wear, with three hook and eye fastenings at the back allowing you to choose how snugly it fits.

The crop top comes in four different sizes, from extra small to large, although the extra small and small have already sold out thanks to the bralette’s popularity.

Although the bra was designed for developing busts, plenty of adult shoppers have also been snapping up the crop top, praising its fit and shape.

One buyer said: “I am usually M & S size 10, (12 elsewhere) and either 34c or 36b bra size. This bra, medium, is slightly small but will probably stretch a bit after a few washes. Hopefully not too much. I am very pleased with it, so comfortable with very good support. Going to buy another.”

Another titled her review “The perfect bra for the older woman”, before adding: “This bra is light, comfortable, supportive, very slightly padded. No attempt to "lift and separate" just gentle and very easy to wear. I think you could market it as 'the perfect last bra."

A third wrote: "Wonderful product fits just like gloves would most certainly purchase again.”

Some shoppers did struggle with the sizing, calling it “way too small” or finding it much smaller fitting than other M&S bras they’d purchased in the same size.

However, others said they loved wearing the bra for sports and the snug fit helped keep them supported, with one review saying: “I am a small female runner, I’m always looking for bras that are good for running in. This bra is the best. Super comfortable, easily adjustable, washes really well, and looks great under a running top. I am so impressed I’ve bought 4.”
