DEAR DEIDRE: THE man I love is with a guy much younger than him. I’m scared he’ll get hurt.
I’m a gay man of 35 and the man I love is someone I met online. He’s 41. We have never met in person, but he relies on me.
His texts eased off when he met another young guy.
He’s apparently 18 and his parents are against him having a relationship with a man, but they can’t do anything about it.
I think this young guy is pushing boundaries and when he has had enough of my friend, he’ll dump him.
My friend has a sex addiction, so he’s really into this guy. I’ll admit, I’m insanely jealous but worried about my friend too.
What can I do?

DEIDRE SAYS: He is an adult so there isn’t much you can do, except be there to support him if things go wrong in his relationship.
It is worrying that you say you love somebody you haven’t met – as you do need to meet in person to form a meaningful relationship.
If you are never going to meet him then you may be hanging on indefinitely.
My support pack Gay Resources may help you to find someone for a special relationship.
