Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco were a picture of togetherness at the launch of a new boat for Monaco’s maritime police.

Newly released pictures of joint engagement, which took place last week, follow months of speculation about the state of their marriage.

The pair posed for photographs with Albert’s niece, Charlotte Casiraghi, 37, who is eleventh in line to the Monegasque throne and is the daughter of Princess Caroline.

Albert, 65, and Charlene, 45, were coordinated in navy blue and white suits with a nautical feel.

This was one of many outings for the Monégasque royals who were spotted at numerous engagements last month

The boat they inaugurated, the Saint Georges shuttle, is the latest addition to the police fleet.

Capable of reaching 45 knots, it will be useful for sea rescues and other missions.

Last week, Princess Charlene attempted to quell persistent rumours that her marriage to Prince Albert is on the rocks, describing them as ‘exhausting’.

Apparently keen to be seen together, this latest engagement is one of several joint outings undertaken by Prince Albert and Princess Charlene in the last few days.

She has only  royal recently returned to Monaco after a solo visit to native South Africa.

The trip marked her first visit to the country where she grew up since 2021.

On that visit, she suffered a serious illness which kept her away from her husband and eight-year-old twins for several months because she was unable to fly.

In an earlier interview with Italian newspaper Corriere della Sierra, Albert has said: ‘I don’t understand all these rumours, which hurt me, about us…they’re lies.’

For her part, Charlene maintains that she is ‘serene and happy’ in her marriage, denying rumours that surfaced in German and French media that she was now ‘living in Switzerland’ and that her marriage was ‘ceremonial’.

Speaking to South Africa’s News24 before her return last month, the princess, who shares twins Jacques and Gabriella with Prince Albert, said: ‘I find the rumours [about my marriage] tiring and exhausting.’

Prince Albert was recently seen by himself at the Singles tournament on the final day of the Ryder Cup golf in Italy at the weekend dressed in a navy blue polo shirt with an official 2023 Ryder Cup navy blue cap and dark reflective sunglasses.

Albert appeared to be soaking up the Roman sunshine, smiling at onlookers and chatting to close friends.

And just last week, Albert was spotted on a solo outing to Oktoberfest in Munich, alongside friends Clarissa Kuefer and her husband Michael, and Munich-based lawyer Alexander Liegl (who is also honorary consul to Monaco) at the event.

The royal dressed the part for the Bavarian beer festival as he donned a brown suede jacket and matching buttoned trousers to attend the event – while Clarissa looked stunning in a mustard dirndl.

The royal beamed with his friends in the German city after he jetted in that evening, following a family outing with his children in Monaco earlier in the day.

His visit to Munich marks Albert’s first ever Oktoberfest in Germany, although he was spotted partying at the beer festival in 2020 when it was moved to Monaco for the year.

Meanwhile, these appearances come not long after the royal couple took their children to their first day of school earlier last month.

Princess Charlene was pictured on the Palace’s Instagram account with her eight-year-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.

Ever since she met Prince Albert on a plane in 1997, Nicole Coste has played a strange role on the outskirts of Monegasque society

In early September, the fashion designer posed next to Prince Albert to mark their son Alexandre’s 20th birthday

Posing alongside her smartly-dressed husband, Charlene opted for a stylish pair of patterned trousers and a black jumper, while her children were kitted out in their school uniform.

Gabriella sported blue jeans with her school top, while her brother opted for black trousers. Both siblings carried colourful backpacks and opted for trainers for their first day back after the summer holidays.

Around the same time in September, Nicole Coste, Albert’s former mistress, posed next to Prince Albert to mark their son Alexandre’s 20th birthday. They were joined by Jazmin Grimaldi – Albert’s other illegitimate child – and her other sons from her first marriage.

Prior to this, Nicole nearly came face to face with Albert and Charlene at the 74th annual Red Cross ball.
