Stacey Solomon shows off fake third engagement ring after fears for real diamond

Stacey Solomon has given fans a look at her third engagement ring – but all is not as it seems.

As the Loose Women star took to Instagram to show off her 'summer holiday nails' in a short video, fans couldn't help but notice the huge rock on Stacey's left hand.

One follower commented: "New ring?????? Not the one joe got you lol."

Another also noticed the change and asked: "Have you changed your engagement ring?"

However, Stacey cleared up the confusion, responding to one person who wrote: "Gorgeous!! ……have you changed your engagement ring?"

Stacey, who is currently working on the latest series of her BBC show Sort Your Life out, replied: "No, these are just my fake ones. I bought a cheap set just to wear for work because I have to do so much DIY, I don’t want to ruin or break my real ones."

However, Stacey has changed her engagement ring once before.

On Christmas Eve 2020, Joe Swash popped the question and asked Stacey to marry him.

As he got down one on knee, Joe presented her with a white gold ring featuring a cushion cut diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds.

Announcing the news in a photo shared on Instagram, the star was overcome with emotion as she sobbed and showed off her huge diamond ring.

She captioned it: "To the moon and back bub. I have no words," alongside a ring emoji and a black heart emoji.

But ahead of their wedding at their home in Essex, Stacey revealed that she had her engagement ring altered to suit her style.

Explaining the reason for the change, she said: “Joe also had my ring changed to gold because I wear more gold than silver. It's all the same stones but we moved them around a bit so it was more dainty for my fingers”.

She went on to show a close up of the ring though joked she was unable to get the camera to focus on the opal stones and the placement of the smaller diamonds in the ring.

Maxwell Stone, engagement ring specialist at UK retailer Steven Stone, compared Stacey's two rings, saying: "Stacey’s original engagement ring featured a cushion cut diamond – sat on a silver band – in a halo setting and looked to be two carats.

"It was an incredibly sentimental – and not to mention, romantic – ring as it featured Australian opals, which represented both Stacey’s birthstone and where the couple fell in love. I previously valued the ring at £13,800."

Speaking about the second ring, he said: "In 2022, Joe made changes to Stacey's ring in order to make it more dainty and though the silver band was changed to a rose gold one, the couple used the same stones when redesigning the ring.

"Featuring a cushion diamond in a four claw setting, the most notable change was that it went from a halo design to a simple solitaire design. The ring still possessed its sentimental value with the inclusion of Australian opals. I previously estimated the ring to be worth £11,850."
