While a bit of creative DIY is to be applauded, the one place where you don’t want to mess about is in your car.
But some brave motorists have no hesitation pimping their rides – with rather dubious results.
Hilarious photographs, taken by people from around the world and collated into a gallery by Bored Panda, revealed some of the terrible customised vehicles out there – with some modifications looking dangerous rather than daring.
For instance, one driver replaced their steering wheel with a ship’s tiller for that retro feel.
Another person tried to fix their bumper with cable ties rather than forking out for bodywork repair.
Sofa, so good! Leather seats are the top of many people’s wishlists, but this couch crammed into a car is probably not what most motorists have in mind
Ahoy there! A US motorist has replaced the steering wheel with a ship’s tiller and alarmingly there seems to be a vodka bottle on top of the gear stick
But if that wasn’t enough, another road user customised their car to look like it was permanently upside down, with the motor boasting both its usable wheels and another set on the top of its frame.
And a fellow daring driver took things too literally by replacing the trunk of their car with an actual wooden chest.
