Tina Turner’s daughter-in-law is going to use her late husband’s sperm to have a baby.
Afida Turner revealed in a new interview that Ronnie Turner froze his sperm as a birthday gift to her before he died of colon cancer in December 2022 at the age of 62.
“I’m going to have Ronnie’s baby!” Afida told People Wednesday. “If I can. I’m 46. But we’ll see.”
The French singer wants to carry the little one herself and undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) before her next birthday on Dec. 22.
“It’s still bad because he’s not here, but what can I do?” she asked. “At least I will have a little one that looks like Ronnie. A monster like me and him, can you imagine?”
Afida is still emotionally distraught over the loss of her husband, who was the only biological son of the late Tina and Ike Turner.
“It’s a punishment. Morning and night, I’m crying and screaming,” she told the magazine of being in mourning.
Afida, who lived in Encino, Calif., for more than a decade with Ronnie, has decided to move out of the home they shared.
“My life in Los Angeles became a nightmare — a real nightmare,” she said. “That’s why I got the f—k out of there. No house, no furniture. Just my memories and Ronnie’s clothes.”
The pain of losing Ronnie was exacerbated even more when Tina died of natural causes in May at the age of 83.
“It was very sad that Ronnie passed, and then his mom passed six months after,” Afida said. “It is very difficult for me because people only see the music or the pictures, but I go back home and scream the names of my loved ones. [That pain] will never go away.”
The mourning artist said she is “still very depressed” and thinks about “very bad, dark, bad stuff.”
“You don’t want to go through this in life. You have to talk to God, otherwise you go nuts and kill yourself,” she added. “I’m suffering, and my heart is destroyed. I’m trying not to lose my mind.”
Ronnie and Afida tied the knot in 2007 after meeting at a recording studio two years prior. The couple connected on many levels, including both being born into abusive households.
Afida was orphaned at the age of 2 after her father beat her mother to death and she was put in foster care.

Meanwhile, Ike notoriously beat Tina throughout the pair’s marriage.
Tina — who adopted two of Ike’s kids from a previous relationship, Ike Jr. and Michael, and had another son, Craig, with ex Raymond Hill — was married to her “Proud Mary” collaborator from 1962 to 1978 and spoke openly about her ex-husband’s domestic abuse.
Afida was Ronnie’s rock throughout his struggles with depression and addiction.
“I made sure he didn’t kill himself,” she told People. “Ronnie was a lonely, destroyed man without love. I saved his life. We were both kind of like orphans: broken souls, broken hearts and I was doing everything for him.”
Ronnie was sober for three years, living a healthy lifestyle and ready for fatherhood before his doctors found a tumor and diagnosed him with late-stage metastatic colon cancer, which swiftly spread to other organs.
He stopped breathing and collapsed outside their home and died just one week before he was scheduled for chemotherapy.
Despite her agonizing grief, Afida is grateful for the opportunity to continue on Ronnie’s legacy and the Turner family bloodline.
