A mother has been slammed for not wearing a seatbelt as she held her baby daughter in the passenger seat of a moving car.

Earlier this week, Russian actress Vera Kincheva, 31, shared a video of herself driving a car in Thailand on her Instagram while her friend Anna Peretz sat beside her.

While music plays in the background of the viral Instagram video, Vera bobs along to the melody as she films herself on her phone.

The actress then leans over to zoom in on Anna and the baby – who has been leaning against her mother and looking out of the open window.

The video was later shared on Reddit on a post titled: ‘Please, please, please. Don’t disregard safety just for a social media post.’

In the UK, drivers are required to put passengers under 15 months old in a rear-facing carseat. Children are required to have booster seats until they are 12 years old or at least 135cm tall.

Last year, Thailand introduced a law stating that children under the age of six need to be secured in a car seat when travelling.

Viewers flooded into the comments section to share their concerns about the safety of the baby – who was being held by her mother for the entirety of the video.

She then pans the camera over to her passenger Anna Peretz who is holding a baby on her lap

One comment read: ‘Honestly the amount of things wrong in this clip has to be a record.’

Another user commented on the open window next to the small child, writing: ‘I was worried the baby would fly out since the window was down too. Crazy people.’

One user issued a warning, saying: ‘If they hit a speed bump, if they’ve got to slam on the brakes. A thousand ways this baby can get a lifelong injury or worse even without a car accident.’

Meanwhile another said: ‘It’s worse than that. You can see the woman carrying the baby doesn’t have her seatbelt on. Most modern cars won’t deploy the airbag if it’s not on.’

Reddit users described the women as ‘crazy people’ saying the baby was at risk of ‘lifelong injury or worse’

One user however supported the poster, saying: ‘On this island, and Thailand in general, it is completely common for kids to be in cars without car seats and no seatbelts.

‘I’m not here to say this is okay, I’m just giving context.

‘Also, your chance of getting t-boned here is almost zero because the island is small and there are very few intersections.’

A new law in Thailand announced that it would be mandatory for all passengers in a vehicle to wear a seatbelt from September last year, according to Bangkok Post.

One comment supported the poster saying it is common for children not to wear seatbelts in Thailand

Pol Maj Gen Jirasant Kaeosaeng-Ek, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, added at the time that details relating to child safety measures were yet to be finalised.

Rules in the UK dictate that passengers must wear a seat belt if one is fitted and that children under three years old are not allowed to travel in a car that does not have seatbelts.

Earlier today, PM Rishi Sunak admitted he made an ‘error of judgement’ after failing to wear seatbelt in car.

The PM also faced a backlash for taking a plane to Blackpool for a visit to promote Levelling Up spending, rather than driving or going by rail.
