A TikTok user has revealed that shopping for groceries at Marks and Spencer could work out cheaper than shopping at budget stores such as Asda and Aldi.
Rebecca Hall, who goes by the username life_with_bex, headed to M&S to check out prices of standard food items such as bread and beans, after she'd seen many people saying that the retailer is not actually as expensive as many have been led to believe.
She said that she had found some items to be "even cheaper than Aldi" and then went through her shopping bag and revealed the prices of each item.
A loaf of thick bread cost just 70p while mushrooms had come in at 90p and chicken drumsticks were priced at just £1.20.
She'd also picked up apples, bourbon biscuits, party rings and eggs, as well as potatoes, beans, 1L of iced coffee, spaghetti and potatoes.
Rebecca revealed that an iceberg lettuce was priced at just 55p and a cucumber was only 60p, making them both cheaper than Aldi.
She'd also purchased kitchen wipes, tomato sauce and microwave rice, with her shopping coming to a grand total of £13.85.
