Woman baffled as she realises why childhood art set felt tips were dry as f**k

It seems like every kid got an art set for Christmas at some point during their childhood – which was great for their basic coloured pencils and watercolour paints.

But one grievance everyone shared with the set was that their felt-tip pens were always so dry and it just seemed to be accepted that they would be.

However, people are now realising that we were using them wrong the whole time – as we were apparently meant to add water to make them work.

Jordan Jones, who posts online under the user name jjones94, was fuming when she found out the truth and made her feelings known in a now-viral social media video.

In the video, which has gained more than 255,000, the TikTok user said: "Anyone else remember these s**t a** artist packs that we would get as kids?

"The markers were super-super dry all the time. I was today years old when I found out you're supposed to put water in the markers to make them work.

"You're supposed to take the bottom off the marker and put water in it to activate the ink so they're not dry as f**k.

"What?! We went through raggedy-a** dry-a** markers thinking there was something wrong with them when all we had to do was literally add water.

"What the f**k?"

But she wasn't the only one who hadn't realised the hack as hundreds of other TikTok users took to the comments flabbergasted by the revelation.

One user said: "The amount of markers that were thrown away."

Another added: "We need to buy one now to try it."

A third commented: "Your joking please tell me your joking."

A fourth wrote: "My mom blamed me for ruining them! I swore I didn’t dry them out by leaving the caps off.

"She didn’t believe me."
