‘Do NOT get Turkey teeth’: Woman reveals her nightmare $26K makeover, which left her in pain and crying – with a tooth FALLING OUT four days later

A TikToker has warned against the dental trend for ‘Turkey teeth’ after she says she was left in agony and paying thousands of dollars for less-than-adequate results.
Maya Rey, from Winnipeg, Canada, posted a series of TikTok videos detailing her botched veneer procedure in a bid to prevent people from making the same mistake.
She explained that she got the surgery in September 2020, with an ex-boyfriend paying CA$25,000 (US$26,700) for her to get butt implants, breast implants and a new set of teeth while on a trip to Turkey.
From the get-go Maya said she was worried about her dental job as the dentist didn’t speak English and she had to use a translator.

But things progressively got worse when the dentist ‘ground down’ Maya’s teeth without the correct dose of anesthetic.
Crowns and veneers: What’s the difference?
Veneers and crowns are both dental treatments that can improve the look and function of your teeth.
The most significant difference between the two is that a veneer only covers part of the tooth while a crown covers the entire tooth.
A veneer is a very thin layer of porcelain, but can be made from other materials, and is usually chosen more for cosmetic purposes.
They are bonded to the front of existing teeth with coloring to existing teeth matched by the dentist.
A crown is roughly twice as thick and covers the whole tooth in a far more invasive procedure than veneers because most of the tooth is removed to make room.
It can be made from porcelain, porcelain fused to a metal alloy or an all-metal alloy.
While crowns are also chosen for cosmetic purposes, they also offer a solution for those with conditions including broken, decayed or crooked teeth.
The Canadian said the plastic surgeon she used in Turkey recommended the dentist as they shared the same building.
Before having her dental makeover, she showed photos to the dentist of what kind of look she wanted, including the teeth shape and the level of whiteness.
When it came to the surgery, Maya said the dentist worked rapidly and filed down all her teeth to ‘nubs’ in just 30 minutes.
As the anesthetic hadn’t been administered correctly, she said it meant she ‘felt every zzz’ and was left in tears.
Recalling the nightmare scenario, she said: ‘She grinded my teeth down to little nubs they were so bad. It hurt so bad.’
After her teeth were filed down, the dentist fixed her up with some temporary teeth and told her to return in five days.
When she returned, she said the dentist ‘yanked out’ her temporary teeth with bits flying everywhere.
The permanent teeth were then installed but no numbing agent was used, so Maya said everything was ‘so f****** sensitive’.
When it was complete, she looked in the mirror but she said her teeth just looked like they did before but whiter. She also discovered that instead of getting veneers, the dentist had given her crowns and that’s why more of her teeth had been filed away.
To make matters worse, four days later when Maya was back in Canada one of her front teeth fell out.
This meant she had to get more dental work done to fix the missing tooth.
As a warning to others Maya, concludes: ‘My teeth were beautiful before… Do not get Turkey teeth… I know this is all my own fault.
‘Yes everything they tell you about you’re gonna regret them in a few years. I regretted them the next day.’
