Amazon Echo Dot get huge price cut

The Amazon Echo Dot is now reduced to a new low cost of just £19.99 which is one of the lowest prices we’ve seen.

With things so low, it might seem that now is a good time to invest but be warned!

Amazon has announced the release of a new Echo Dot and Echo Dot with Clock which will arrive in stores later next month and come packed with enhancements that should make them sound better than the current models.

Firstly there’s a big boost to the audio with these new devices now featuring redesigned audio architecture with a full-range driver that has the highest excursion speaker of any Echo Dot.

Amazon is promising that this boost will deliver clearer vocals and up to double the bass of the previous generation.

Along with better sound, another new technology tucked under the compact ball-shaped shell are new sensors that enable more contextual Alexa experiences. This means owners will be able to perform tasks such as automatically turning on smart fans when it gets too warm inside.

There are also improved gesture controls with a simple tap on the top of the device able to pause music and dismiss timers. Those opting for the Dot with Clock will find they are treated to a better display that offers a more vibrant and dynamic way to see information at a glance.

And, in addition to the standard time being shown, users will also be able to view other data such as the name of a song title or artist, the weather, a calculation or unit of measurement and calendar event times when asking Alexa.

“A true ambient experience is there to simplify your day-to-day life when you need it and fades into the background when you don’t. This generation of Echo devices are designed with this vision in mind,” said Nedim Fresko, vice president of Amazon Alexa Devices. “With the upgraded audio and compact form factors, each of these new devices give customers more ways to make Alexa a seamless part of their day. And, with the new sensors and technology built in to Echo Dot and Echo Dot with Clock, customers can have Alexa do even more on their behalf.”

These speakers won’t be discounted when they go on sale so you’ll need to decide if you want a bargain or fancy waiting for a better experience.
