New subscribers to Audible can get their first four months for half price thanks to a great-sounding deal. Usually, an Audible subscription costs £7.99 a month, but for anyone new to the service this has been slashed to just £3.99. Besides getting access to a library of thousands of audiobooks, podcasts and Audible originals subscribers will also get a monthly credit which lets them download and keep one title forever.

This means the deal will – in total – let subscribers get four audiobooks of their choosing even after their subscription ends.

Audible members can also take advantage of exclusive discounts which offer up to 80 percent off select audiobooks each month.

If you like the sound of this deal remember you have to be entirely new to Audible – so you can’t be an existing subscriber or have taken advantage of a free trial in the past to be eligible for the promotion.

Also, bear in mind that after your trial period is over auto-renew will kick in and you’ll be charged the usual price of £7.99 a month.

So if you don’t want to continue using Audible after your first four months are up make sure you cancel before then.

Audible can be listened to on a wide range of devices such as Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, laptops, MP3 players and Sonos speakers.

Amazon also offers Audible support on Kindle ereaders, Fire tablets, Fire TV devices and Alexa-enabled products such as the Echo smart speakers.

Anyone that subscribes to Audible will get unlimited access to the Audible Plus Catalogue, which includes thousands of exclusive Audible Originals, podcasts and audiobooks.

Popular listens available in the Audible Plus library include The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes narrated by Derek Jacobi, Derren Brown’s Boot Camp For The Brain and The Jane Austen Collection which is narrated by Claire Foy, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Billie Piper, Florence Pugh and Emma Thompson.

Another popular title that’s only recently been added to the Audible Plus catalogue is series 2 of From the Oasthouse: The Alan Partridge Podcast.

This was added to the Audible Plus catalogue last week, and has been promoted on the Audible Twitter alongside a series of hilarious clips featuring the fictional star himself (played by Steve Coogan).

Announcing the release of the new Partridge podcast Audible UK tweeted: “You asked, and you asked and now, at long last! From The Oasthouse: The Alan Partridge Podcast. Series 2 – it’s not highbrow.”
