One of the best things about modern smartphones is they usually get better over time thanks to software updates that bring new features, better cameras, and improved battery life, if you are lucky.
It looks as though Samsung Galaxy owners are the latest group to benefit from this. As Express.co.uk predicted over the weekend, the latest Android 14 update has begun rolling out to the Galaxy S23 series in the form of One UI 6 – One UI being what Samsung calls its particular flavour of Android.
Galaxy fans on Reddit have been posting screenshots of the software update from across Europe – go into your phone’s settings now to check if you have an update waiting to download.
One UI 6 for Samsung phones builds on the big changes we saw from Android 13, which brought a colour palette picker to make the colour of your wallpaper match the app icons and menus of the whole phone. The update brings redesigned emojis, a new look to the quick settings panel, new look and icons in the camera app, and other small but noticeable improvements.
Samsung phones generally now offer an excellent four years of Android updates – so as the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra came out earlier this year with Android 13, this is their first whole Android version update.

If your Samsung phone isn’t on this list, you probably won’t be getting Android 14, but your phone might still receive security updates to keep things secure. Recent Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets such as the Galaxy Tab S9 and S8 should also get Android 14 and One UI 6 in the coming weeks or months.
