It’s been over two years since Apple released its all-new iMac with the fully redesigned M1 model getting its grand unveiling back in May 2021. Now there’s finally an an upgrade coming to these colourful all-in-one desktop PCs that looks set to offer owners a major speed boost. Apple has just lifted the lid on the 2023 iMac models at its “Scary Fast” showcase and all will now be powered by the firm’s latest and greatest M3 silicon.
This will make things twice as fast as the previous generation iMac which means those daily digital tasks should feel a little more silky smooth.
Apple says that the M3 chip features an 8-core CPU, up to a 10-core GPU along with offering support for up to 24GB of unified memory.
That boost will make the Safari web browser perform up to 30 percent faster, Microsoft Excel perform up to 30 percent faster and those who love gaming will see up to 50 percent faster frame rates.
4K video will also be faster to edit and pro apps such as Photoshop will be twice as fast as before.
Just like the previous iMac models, the 2023 range comes in numerous colours such as green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. All accessories such as the Mouse and Trackpad are colour-matched and the keyboard gets Touch ID technology for easy access to unlocking the screen and using Apple Pay.
There’s also a 24-inch, 4.5K Retina display with 11.3 million pixels, a 1080p FaceTime camera, impressive speakers and studio-quality mics. Apple is also promising improved connectivity thanks to the addition of Wi-Fi 6E.
Prices start from £1,399 with the new iMac available in stores from November 7.

Along with the new iMac, Apple has also refreshed its MacBook Pro lineup with these laptops also getting the M3 treatment.
As well as that performance boost, there’s a new Space Black colour to choose from and prices now start from a more affordable £1,699.
