Samsung and LG TV owners are in for a treat! That’s because five new sports channels have arrived on these popular platforms – and you won’t have to pay a penny to tune-in. These subscription-free services are all thanks to Rakuten TV, which has promised an “all-round viewing sporting experience” for anyone with one of the latest TVs in their living rooms.

The new channels include European League of Football, PlayersTV, Sportitalia, SportOutdoorTV, and Unbeaten.

To help bring this content to telly owners without any extra fees, Rakuten will be supported by adverts, which means you will need to sit through some sponsored messages during your fix of football.

It’s also worth noting that not all five channels are coming to the UK with British Samsung and LG TV users only getting access to PlayersTV and Unbeaten as part of the upgrade. It’s a shame that not all content is available in the UK, but what you will get is still a bonus for anyone who loves some sporting action.

Samsung TV: Sneak peek at some of the QLED 8K features

Here’s what these two UK services include…

PlayersTV: This channel brings premium sports lifestyle content including original series, comedies and documentaries which are all co-produced by more than 50 athletes. It offers intimate access into the lives of professional athletes and a behind-the-scenes look at their passions, interests, and off-the-field pursuits.

Unbeaten: This channel includes sports news and entertainment with both existing and original programming available to view.

There’s daily original news shows such as Life’s a Pitch, Sport Confidential, The Football Review, FIBA World Basketball, Combat and The Inside Line.

Additionally, Unbeaten has access to a vast catalogue of recent and historical series, and will roll out over 1,000 hours of content, across football, Formula 1, basketball, golf, tennis, combat and eSports, as well as a collection of other lifestyle sports.

If any of that sounds exciting then Rakuten TV says these channels are currently accessible for FREE on the Rakuten TV app. You’ll find this service on most new Samsung and LG Smart TV devices. Users can also instantly launch the app with a single click through the branded remote-control button and the pre-installed app on selected Smart TV devices.
