God of War Ragnarok: what we know so far
First announced in October 2021, God of War Ragnarok marks the final instalment in the series' Norse Saga.
It's set several years after God of War (2018) and sees winter descend on the game's sublime setting of Midgard as Kratos fights alongside his now-adult son Atreus.
During Sony's Playstation Showcase last Autumn, which also revealed a full next-gen remake of Knights of the Old Republic, fans were treated to footage of some of the main boss characters from the upcoming game in some teaser images of Freya and Thor.

The earlier instalment in the series, God of War, was widely lauded as one of the greatest PS4 games ever released.
Now the series is set to make its mark on the next-gen with a cross-platform release on both PS5 and PS4.
God of War Ragnarok looks set up to be the AAA blockbuster of the year, after Bethesda's new space RPG Starfield was pushed back from November to 2023 following certain performance issues with the game when played on the Xbox Series S.
