With today's Modern Warfare II launch, the 19th Call of Duty game is finally here.
Both gamers and long-term fans of the series have spent the past weeks sharing their excitement at the game's impressive graphics, as well as speculating about which classic maps will feature in MW2's fast-paced multiplayer.
The series is no stranger to bringing back fan favourites, with the iconic 'Crash' map featuring in the first rebooted Modern Warfare game in 2019.

Now, it seems that gamers will have the chance to play through another classic map from the original series as Modern Warfare II has revived 'Rust'.
Rust originally featured in the original Modern Warfare II in 2009, and was one of the most popular multiplayer maps for years. Players were forced to the high ground across a tiny battlefield that could be hit at any moment by a deadly sandstorm.
The large tower at the centre of the map was always hotly contested and became the birthplace of 1v1 trickshotting.
There's a twist, however. It appears that Rust isn't going to be a standalone map. Instead, it will feature as an explorable area within a larger 'Ground War' battle map.

Twitter videos of people playing MW2 show the Rust setting against the backdrop of a much larger desert level.
That means it will only feature as one of the Battle Map modes, which see up to 64 players duke it out for dominance.
Meanwhile, the game's Core Map Modes will feature a host of new maps, including some set in Al Mazrah, the new Warzone 2 map.
Warzone 2.0, meanwhile, is set for a November release and will feature an upgraded graphics engine as well as the inclusion of AI-controlled enemies.
