Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Black Friday deal sees £200 slashed off folding smartphone

Folding phones are quickly becoming the future, with gadget lovers ditching their boring old bricks for fully hinged, foldable devices.

The only thing that has put most people off them so far is the steep price of these jaw-dropping gadgets, which have to be seen to be believed.

Luckily, with Black Friday just around the corner, retailers have launched their winter sales early and Currys has just dropped an amazing bargain on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3.

The phone resembles an old clamshell Motorola from the 2000s but, instead of a clunky physical keyboard, has a full-size touchscreen capable of folding completely in half. The Z Flip 3 is currently on sale for £26.85 per month or £699 in total, with a discount of £200 off of its original £899 price.

Although it's last year's model, the Z Flip 3 still packs a punch with a great quality camera and a stunning lavender blue colour scheme on the body.

In August, Samsung announced its new Galaxy Z range with upgraded cameras and reinforced folding screens.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 are the fourth generation of the Korean tech firm's mindboggling folding smartphones. The Z Flip 4 is relatively similar to the Z Flip 3, although it's slimmer than the older models and boasts quicker charging—as well as different folding angles for group photos.

With the Z Flip 4 clocking in at £1,099, nabbing Currys' Black Friday deal on the Z Flip 3 this week might be a great way to get your hands on a (folding) piece of the action—without having to break the bank.

Despite their popularity, some users of the folding Samsung smartphone range complained of durability issues with the older models, in particular with creases and bubbles appearing under the folding screen hinges.

So, if you do pick up a bargain this Black Friday, make sure you also get a screen protector and case so your gadget doesn't end up broken before its time.
