Don’t want a dish stuck to your wall and not impressed by the internet-connected Glass TV? Sky is hoping that its new Stream device can rival cheaper and hassle-free options offered by the likes of Freeview Play and Virgin’s similarly named Stream box. This latest release from the satellite TV firm will go on sale on October 18 with customers simply ordering online and the set-to box arriving in the post the very next day.

Sky has launched an unmissable bargain offering its award-winning Sky Q box and broadband at a low price. For a limited time, Sky will freeze your monthly bills for the next 18-months, so you’re guaranteed to avoid any price rises throughout 2023!

Owners then simply plug it into their televisions, connect the Stream box to their broadband and then sit back and watch TV. Just like Sky Glass, this device offers full live channels along with all of the usual catch-up services from Sky, BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

There’s also seamless integration with premium services like Netflix, Disney+, Prim Video and Apple TV+. Sadly, there’s no in-built hard drive so anything you don’t want to miss needs to be added to the special Playlists section.

This then uses on-demand platforms to show content that’s already been broadcast. Other features include a backlit remote control with full voice search and there’s the option to watch content in full 4K definition.

So how much is Sky Stream going to cost?

You can opt for either a 31-day rolling plan from £29 a month that can be cancelled at any time or there’s an 18-month contract from just £26 a month.

Both of these options include Sky Ultimate TV which features over 250 channels plus there’s Netflix Basic which offers hundreds of hours of movies and boxsets.

If that doesn’t sound enough, there’s the option to add on extra packs and services such as Sky Cinema, Sky Sports, BT Sport and UHD and Dolby Atmos. Of course, the more you include, the higher the monthly price will get.

As we mentioned earlier, this mini box will be available from later this month and you don’t have to stop at one device with Sky also confirming that it will be offering a multi-room set-up for customers that want streaming across the whole of their home.
