Nintendo Switch gamers in the UK will now be eligible for free repairs and replacements of their Joy-Con controllers, under new rules.
Nintendo will now offer to replace or fix your Joy-Cons if they're suffering from 'Joy Con drift', even if the warranty is no longer valid.
It's extending its free 'drift' repair programme to the UK, Europe and Switzerland, meaning gamers in these regions will now get the same treatment as those in the USA and the rest of the world.

The programme has been rolled out due to how widespread so-called Joy-Con drift is.
An estimated 40 percent of Nintendo Switch users experience the drift issue, which Nintendo calls 'responsiveness syndrome'.
It can cause the controller's analogue sticks to interact with the console of their own accord, often causing frustrating mistakes and errors for gamers at critical moments.
Thankfully, you'll now be able to book a free repair via the Nintendo Support website. Just follow the instructions on-screen to book a repair and arrange shipping of your controllers to the company's repair centre.

Nintendo does have the right to refuse repairs if the drift problem has been caused by third-party accessories, or if the serial number has been removed from the Joy-Con.
So just make sure everything is intact and don't try to fix the problem with DIY.
Nintendo previously faced a lawsuit in the US for its joy-con drift issues. However, the class action lawsuit was dismissed by an American judge in February.
The company's president Shuntaro Furukawa has even publicly apologised in the past for Joy-Con drift. In 2020, he said the company apologises for 'any trouble caused to our customers'.
