Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) has been struggling more than he’s willing to admit in Coronation Street.
The solicitor has been faced with weeks of stress after learning of Sarah’s (Tina O’Brien) affair, and then discovering she’s pregnant and having to live with the fact he or Damon (Ciaran Griffiths) could be the father.
As a result of not being able to process what’s going on, Adam has started experiencing panic attacks.
The first one happened while in court with Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown). Adam attempted to continue his speech in front of everyone, but he became sweaty and started hyperventilating, resulting in him rushing out.

After he calmed down, Adam chatted to Sarah and explained that he was stressing out over the paternity test results. Unfortunately, a comment from Sarah saw Adam misunderstand her and assume that the DNA test had confirmed he’s the baby’s father.
In reality, Sarah told Adam not to worry about them because she was trying to be kind and keep him calm, but didn’t have the courage to reveal the truth.
In Friday’s (July 21) edition of the ITV soap, Adam was seen at work on the phone to another solicitor. The man commented on the prospect of Adam becoming a dad and when the call ended, he received a knock at the door.
Adam was set to attend a meeting with a client, but the comments about being a parent had triggered his anxiety and so, he told the person to wait outside.
He then experienced another panic attack and later in the episode, Daniel (Rob Mallard) arrived and wondered what had happened.
It became apparent that the client’s appointment was over an hour ago, which meant Adam completely missed it.
Daniel asked what was going on, but will Adam tell him?
